Meh...

Quick post just to say I'm so sorry but I've had to put the annoying Word Verification on my blog for comments - I'm getting quite a bit of spam lately and I just don't have the time to weed them all out, it's only a matter of time until something rude is on there LOL! Watched a programme the other night and apparently there are currently 49 BILLION spam attacks going on in the world at any one time - blimey o riley these people should get a life and take up crafting instead!

And a little bit more...

Hope you're all ok today - I seem to be finally getting a little energy back now and my feet have stopped throbbing from 3 days of standing up all day (not my back though lol)...So today I want to share a little news which is uber exciting I think...

As you know by now, we exhibited at the UK's only annual trade show last weekend - this is where manufacturers showcase their wares to all the craft store owners from across the globe. It's very exciting and very busy with 1000s and 1000's of important buyers from tiny stores to great big global companies and as it was our first show as exhibitors we had no idea whether the Retailers would like Polkadoodles products or not. Our tiny little stand was wedged between 4 HUGE Companies and brands selling Prima, Echo Park, Hero Arts, Pan Pastels, Letraset, Teresa Collins, and loads loads more brands so it was a little daunting and we felt like a little minnow in a very big pond amongst such prestigious brands in our aisle! By about an hour in it was very obvious we had nothing to worry about though, orders were flying in, Retailers were telling us how happy they were to see us there and that they could stock our products, so all was well and very exciting!
We truly had an awesome time meeting tons of new people - so many interesting shops and people and what I love most is hearing people's feedback on our products - as a business you are nothing without your customers and so many forget to listen to what their customers need but hopefully that's something we do really well at Polkadoodles. I was absolutely made up when the first customer I spoke to reminded me of an awesome idea I had driving back on the A1 from my last Create and Craft show a couple of weeks ago - in all the mayhem of pre-show madness I'd completely forgotten this idea and it suddenly came back to me mid conversation and it's uber brilliant so I can't wait to share that in the coming weeks.
One of the really great things we are doing this year is making more stamp designs - this is something we've wanted to do for such a long time and it is finally happening this year so be prepared for lots of new releases to come your way.
When we began the Studio 12 line last year one of our missions was to have a standalone range of stamps to truly help bring the hybrid and stamping elements together and this will happen in 2013. As part of this I will be working with a very talented Canadian Designer Susan K Weckesser - and we are SO happy about this! Susan's designs are stunning and her style is just what the Doctor ordered for Studio 12, it integrates so well with my own style, we were just made to work together! Susan and I are both ecstatic to be working together and she is jumping up and down with excitement over in Canada dying to reveal all but I'm making her wait a couple more days so I have to show you some more sneaky peeks before she bursts!....
This little chap was soooo popular...question was, is it a bird or is he an owl? either way, sooo cute!....
 Adorable houses!....
And I am much more Intelligent than you think....
As you can see - gorgeous designs from Susan for Studio 12 and lots more to come in the next few months judging by the popularity of these ones!
We are mega busy preparing all the products to go online for all the orders we received at the show and will be busy for weeks but if your local craft shop doesnt' know that they can stock Polkadoodles please make sure you let them know so you can purchase locally! In addition make sure you check out the events listings over the next week - we have lots of in store demos lined up, including the Papeterie in Aberdeen (I am jumping up and down like an eejit with excitement about that one, it will be a VERY special day!) - and if you're local to York then you can catch me doing Demo Days and workshops in store at Hobbycraft York, check out details here.
Ok, over and out for today, promise to be back with more details very very soon! x

More sneaks!

Hi guys! So we are back from the trade show and the tiredness has really kicked in today. Here are a few more sneaky peeks from the show...

We had such a great time catching up with our other crafty friends including Marion Emberson, Leonie Pujol, Anne-Marie from Hunkydory, Debbie Glennie, Kath Stewart and Enfys Cashmore plus lots lots more and of course, all the new stores who have ordered our new lines (more of that later though)   ; )

See you tomorrow for some more piccies - I daren't post them all together as I don't want to be held responsible for a UK shortage of Tena Lady lol! xx

Lots of sneak peeks!

Hi everyone - SO sorry it's been a while since I posted, but I have a very good excuse! We are currently in the middle of our Annual Craft Trade show here in the UK where it's used as a platform to launch all the new and latest products from all around the world! For the first time we have a stand this year so we're having a whale of a time talking to lots of shop from the UK, Greece, Portugal, Germany, Spain - all over the world, it's so exciting!
My feet are killing me and I've been up since 5am for 6 days running but before I hit the hay I just wanted to give you a tiny titchy sneak peek of some of the new yummy things we will be offering and are launching this week! These will be appearing on the website soon but I can't hold on any longer so all week I'm going to give you some little sneaks of exciting news and samples to whet your appetite before the big unveil in the next week...are u ready?... here we go...

So first up we have this canvas I made which has been created using inks, some acrylic paints and crackle medium and a fabulous new product we are very excited about (but more of that later). The canvas has been overstamped - yes I said STAMPED - with some brand new Studio 12 designs and some elements coloured in with alcohol markers....
Next up...we are SO excited to reveal that we will be working with an amazing new designer at Studio 12...we're ultra excited about this and very happy to have the uber talented Canadian Designer Susan K Weckesser on board with us with her own range of STAMPS within the Studio 12 brand...we LOVE this little bird! Is it a bird, is it an owl?? You can decide, but whatever, it's LUSH!
We will be revealing lots of other Susie K stuff over the next few days, we know you will love her designs and Susie and I will be working really closely together this year to bring you lots of yumminess!
So that's my little sneaks today...see that lush background? We'll tell you more about that later in the week too, so keep your eyes PEELED!! Now I must go and soak my feet before they wither to a bloated fat stump! x
