And a little bit more...

Hope you're all ok today - I seem to be finally getting a little energy back now and my feet have stopped throbbing from 3 days of standing up all day (not my back though lol)...So today I want to share a little news which is uber exciting I think...

As you know by now, we exhibited at the UK's only annual trade show last weekend - this is where manufacturers showcase their wares to all the craft store owners from across the globe. It's very exciting and very busy with 1000s and 1000's of important buyers from tiny stores to great big global companies and as it was our first show as exhibitors we had no idea whether the Retailers would like Polkadoodles products or not. Our tiny little stand was wedged between 4 HUGE Companies and brands selling Prima, Echo Park, Hero Arts, Pan Pastels, Letraset, Teresa Collins, and loads loads more brands so it was a little daunting and we felt like a little minnow in a very big pond amongst such prestigious brands in our aisle! By about an hour in it was very obvious we had nothing to worry about though, orders were flying in, Retailers were telling us how happy they were to see us there and that they could stock our products, so all was well and very exciting!
We truly had an awesome time meeting tons of new people - so many interesting shops and people and what I love most is hearing people's feedback on our products - as a business you are nothing without your customers and so many forget to listen to what their customers need but hopefully that's something we do really well at Polkadoodles. I was absolutely made up when the first customer I spoke to reminded me of an awesome idea I had driving back on the A1 from my last Create and Craft show a couple of weeks ago - in all the mayhem of pre-show madness I'd completely forgotten this idea and it suddenly came back to me mid conversation and it's uber brilliant so I can't wait to share that in the coming weeks.
One of the really great things we are doing this year is making more stamp designs - this is something we've wanted to do for such a long time and it is finally happening this year so be prepared for lots of new releases to come your way.
When we began the Studio 12 line last year one of our missions was to have a standalone range of stamps to truly help bring the hybrid and stamping elements together and this will happen in 2013. As part of this I will be working with a very talented Canadian Designer Susan K Weckesser - and we are SO happy about this! Susan's designs are stunning and her style is just what the Doctor ordered for Studio 12, it integrates so well with my own style, we were just made to work together! Susan and I are both ecstatic to be working together and she is jumping up and down with excitement over in Canada dying to reveal all but I'm making her wait a couple more days so I have to show you some more sneaky peeks before she bursts!....
This little chap was soooo popular...question was, is it a bird or is he an owl? either way, sooo cute!....
 Adorable houses!....
And I am much more Intelligent than you think....
As you can see - gorgeous designs from Susan for Studio 12 and lots more to come in the next few months judging by the popularity of these ones!
We are mega busy preparing all the products to go online for all the orders we received at the show and will be busy for weeks but if your local craft shop doesnt' know that they can stock Polkadoodles please make sure you let them know so you can purchase locally! In addition make sure you check out the events listings over the next week - we have lots of in store demos lined up, including the Papeterie in Aberdeen (I am jumping up and down like an eejit with excitement about that one, it will be a VERY special day!) - and if you're local to York then you can catch me doing Demo Days and workshops in store at Hobbycraft York, check out details here.
Ok, over and out for today, promise to be back with more details very very soon! x
