Halloween Graph'it markers and Metallic Pan Pastels

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've not checked in for a bit, I am like a maniacal shopper in Asda this week lol!

I have such a lot going on right now which will be revealed very shortly but firstly I am uber excited that we now have a new Design Team over at the Premium Craft Brands challenge. The team are SOOO talented it's unreal, I'm going to have a job to keep up! So head on over there and sign up to the feeds for updates and follow us - you will LOVE what we bring you each week. We've relaxed all the challenges to make it easier for everyone to enter and will be regularly posting tutorials and extra bits and pieces so there's lots going on. Sign up here: http://panpasteluk.blogspot.co.uk/

We are challenging you with different folds this week at Polkadoodles blog so get over there and join in - such an easy challenge to take part in too and a great prize up for grabs this week!

So today I just want to share my make for the Graph'It challenge today, which was Autumn colours. I've had this digi coloured for a couple of weeks now but forgot to make it into a card until 6.30am today when I realised I'd missed the challenge lol! So I zipped in the craft room when I got to work and literally threw this together with bits I had on my desk - but I think it kind of worked!

The digi is from the Halloween download collection here and coloured with Graph'It markers (have some mega exciting news on that front so keep your eyes peeled!) ...I've added some pieces of card and die cuts which I've given the old Metallic Pan Pastels treatment and a Versamark and the bottom piece of embossing was actually part of an offcut from a Craftwork Cards embossed card blank I had laying around. Look at the shine! That really does blow me away every time I see it! Make sure you head over to the blog and join in so you can be in with a chance of winning - we now have a random prizewinner so everyone has an equal chance!

I'll be back soon! x

Metallic Pan Pastels, Bonbon Belles, Sizzix, Tonic die-cuts

Wednesday already! Don't know where the weeks go, seems like it's Monday one second and I blink a couple of times and then the week is over! Is it a sign of getting old or something? madness!

So here is another make from last Saturday at Coleman's Craft Warehouse....

On this card I used a backing paper from Bonbon Belles (Love that colour combo). I embossed some white card with a Sizzix embossing folder and used my fave Frame die yet again (yawn yawn sorry if you're sick of seeing that one but for me it's an absolute must-have!). And another die-cut of a bird which is actually a Tonic die. I inked all 3 elements with Versamark and then smothered them with copper and bronze Metallic Pan Pastels to give a vibrant shimmery lustre to die for (excuse the pun!). I love to finish the metallic look with either gold or silver as it lifts it immensely and just seems to finish it off perfectly. And that was it!
The difficulty of photographing metallics is it's sometimes hard to pick up the shine from the camera...meh!

See you tomorrow!

Pan Pastels, Sizzix flowers and a Quick and Easy Card

Just wanted to share another make from my day at Coleman's...I still keep thinking about all that lovely stash haha!
I also need to tell you about something hilarious that happened yesterday...Mr Doodles got a letter from ITV asking if he wanted to go on Come Dine With Me...
....well, clearly his culinary failures have now been spread far and wide by the power of twitter haha!

Anyway let's get on with today's business...

Have you worked out how addicted I am to Pan Pastels yet? I wanted to do something a little different with this one to show the versatility...

So simple but I really like this! I made a simple background using 3 different blues and 2 greens. I then took the Pan Pastel applicator tools - these simulate different brush strokes and are brilliant for making fine detail. So I used the shape of the sponges to create a couple of flowers, turning the card as I worked. I then added Metallic Pan Pastels onto my favourite Sizzix frame and then coloured my Sizzix die cut flowers. Bob's your uncle! Such a quick and simple make, had I not been yak yak yakking this would have been done in 10minutes flat.

Metallic Pan Pastels, Sizzix, Embossing, Oil on Water effect

Hello again!
Last week I went to the amazing Coleman's Craft Warehouse in Rushden, Northants and it was absolutely fabulous!
My lovely friend and design team colleague Bev took this pic of me on the day...I think I'd gone boz eyed with all the colouring at this point as I have my specs on my head LOL!! Coleman's, if you've never been is HUMONGOUS and filled to the brim with stash you will want and more importantly NEED! And I mean craft stash you will USE too, unlike the big chain stores that tend to be filled with miscellaneous craft, this is mainly papercrafting, scrapbooking and jewellery with some fab storage too. You really must go if you get the chance!
Anyway, I was demonstrating for Premium Art Brands with the megalush new Pan Pastel Metallics, masks and Graph'It markers so I'm going to show you some samples this week. We chatted a LOT so I didnt make quite as many as I hoped, but here we go with Numero Uno....
The photo on this is a bit pants as I had to take it on the table and then leave the sample behind.
This was a Sizzix rose embossing folder which was embossed on black card. I then added a variety of the Metallic Pan Pastels and mixed in Pthalo green, Ultramarine and a touch of Violet to give an 'oil on water' look to the metallics. Remember you can add the metallics to your normal Pan Pastels to make them metallic too! I just added a simple tag, ribbon and backing paper and let the embossing do the work.

It's a very exciting time at Graph'It right now - there are lots of new developments and more new fantastic colours coming shortly so make sure you check them out - you will not be disappointed!
See you all soon!

Metallic Pan Pastels, Sizzix and chocolate!

Hello!!
I'm back with another Pan Pastel make for you today!

I told you I was completely addicted to the new Metallics! In fact, I think a LOT of crafters will be following in my addiction footsteps once they see the fabulushness of these!

On Saturday I was lucky enough to demo at the most wonderful craft shop I've been in yet in the UK - Coleman's Craft Warehouse at Rushden in Northants. I'd heard great things about it being awesome and BIG but oh my goodness! BIG isn't the word!! Mammoth is a better description I think!!
The huge expanse of wall space is adorned with every crafty brand you could wish to see and the way they have it all organised is just brilliant, so easy to find what you want without having to rummage around in boxes or on the floor like happens so often (and I have to say it can be like that in my own shop lol!)...the staff were amazingly helpful and everyone who attended was absolutely lovely - there to see the demos and browse the goodies and soak up a great atmosphere. Alongside me demoing were the fabulous Paul Church and Jo firth Young so a lovely time was had by all I think.

So my mission for the day was to share the Pan Pastel and Graph'It love....and there was mucho love I can tell you! We had to restock at lunchtime because everything just flew out. So I'll share some of the samples I made later this week, but in the meantime I wanted to show you this one which was one of my experiments from my Polkadoodles Outlet demo the other weekend...

With this project I used black card again and the Bronze Pan Pastel this time. I mixed in some Permanent Red Extra Dark which is a lush dark chocolatey colour from the normal Pan Pastels range...as you can see it made the Bronze go all delish and chocolatey - it really reminds me of when you dust chocolate with edible gold lustre (think chocolate ganache cake!)....

Yet again I turned to my faithful Sizzix dies and that lovely diamond embossing folder. On the embossing I used some gold together with the bronze, pewter and probably just mixed a bit of all the metallics in if I'm honest LOL! (can't remember now!). I then die-cut flowers from the embossed sheet and made a gold frame to add a different colour....
I layered the elements up, used a Versamark inkpad and a mask to make the sentiment background, then stamped the sentiment in Versamark and dusted with Rich Gold. A dotty backing paper to match and some cream bias binding and you really don't need anything else I think...

Everyone at the demo kept asking me which they needed to get started and this is really hard...I always try to be as honest as I can when I recommend product and try not to tell anyone to buy 'everything' as i think it's really unfair when some people don't have a big budget...but I'm afraid in the case of the Metallic Pan Pastels you really do NEED them ALL!!! I honestly could not choose even just a couple because if you use all 6 together you get a completely stunning result and it enables you to break up the monotony of having a single toned piece of work. What I mean by that is - with this card if I had used the same colour tone all through it wouldn't look as great I think...the embossed rivets are a different colour tone to the frame which again is different to the chocolatey flowers. In my humble opinion this means that it gives you a multi-dimensional look to the work and adds so much more interest rather than keeping everything in gold or silver tones. To get all 6 it works out at £36 which doesnt really break the bank when you compare it to other consumables like paper pads and inkpads. Your Pan Pastels should last you eons if you use the proper Pan Pastel sponges which don't absorb the product and means you don't waste any!
If you want to see all 6 colours you can see them here....

Be back soon!

Polkadoodles challenge - Wings

Hi everyone!

It's Friday and that means Polkadoodles challenge day! I'm not very good at taking part in the challenges because I'm always making samples or marketing or designing and well, doing everything except making the cards i wanna make, generally!

Anyway I want to share this make with you for today's Wings challenge...
I made this at a class and this uses my Angelberry Christmas collection - you can either buy the CD here or get this individual stamp here too (this is a BIG stamp, the card above is 8x8")...
I used Graph'It markers on this (of course!) and I've added a nice yellow glow to this as I wanted it to look all warm and cosy.

Make sure you go and have a look at the fantastic inspiration from the team today - those girls are uber talented for sure!

See you next time!

Graph'It alcohol marker challenge - Reds and Greens

Time for another Graph'It challenge today and it's all about Red and Greens! You can see which colours I used over on the Graph'It blog here...
Graph'It markers are SO vibrant they are perfect for colouring those Christmas images - the Poinsetta's look like they're die-cuts on this I think because they're so rich in colour but no, all hand coloured!

I used the lovely new stamps which I designed for Premium Art Brands this week and decided to do an old make on that tree - I used to do this technique all the time but you sometimes forget the old ones are so good don't you?...Just colour 4 trees, fold them all in half and then glue together in the middle to make a proper 3D tree if you've never seen this before. I then used Maimeri light modelling paste around all the edges to make snow - love the LMP as it dries to give a really good dimension but isn't heavy on paper and card! I just wish I'd had the new Pan Pastel metallics when I made this as it would have really lifted it with a bit of metallic!

So make sure you get over to the challenge today because you could win £45 of goodies! You can use any type of alcohol marker to enter our challenges but it's a great way to win so you can try out the new Graph'Its! ; )

Right I'll see you tomorrow!

Metallic Pan Pastels, Sizzix and embossing

Me again! So this is the 2nd project I've been teasing you with....

I had a demo day in the Outlet store on Saturday and was playing around with the amazingly luscious Pan Pastel metallics...oh my, J'adore!....These literally just arrived in the UK last week straight from release from the US of A and I think we are one of the first places they're available in blighty....

....this was SOOO quick and easy to make! I simply took a Rose embossing folder by Sizzix and embossed it on black card. I die-cut one of my favourite Sizzix frames which is one of my favourites EVER, and then just covered them both with Versamark ink.
Swoosh on some daubs of Pan Pastel metallics in ALL 6 colours until all the ink is covered (you'll be amazed how little you need)....unlike various Mica powders and Perfect Pearls, because the Pan Pastel is in a compacted form you do not get tons of waste like you do with a loose powder product - a real pet hate of mine, I just hate wasting powders!...and Pan Pastels are SO much cleaner to use for sure!...
Then all I did was buff it off with a really soft cloth (or a soft brush would do) to reveal this amazing metallic look.... I then used my all time favourite - yep you guessed it, those amazing Sizzix flower dies again to add some embellies. I just coloured a ticket sentiment from the Bonbon Belles collection and ombre coloured some simple bias binding and voila!....like I said, stunning result but totes simples!...
Join me tomorrow where I'll reveal the next loveliness I made on Saturday....

Pan Pastel Heaven, Sizzling Sizzix and Metallic Lushness

So! Here is the first reveal!
Well, they're all part of the same reveal really!

Shall I get on with it? I know you've been waiting 3 days now!

Here goes....

On Friday we took delivery of our first stock of brand brand new superbly luscious Pan Pastels....not just any old Pan Pastels....METALLIC PAN PASTELS!!!

WHoop Whoop!!!

And Oh My!! What a Joy they are to use!!
I've been waiting a while for these babies to arrive and it's been killing me to wait i don't mind telling you! The effects you can achieve with these are stunning, as I hope you can see. I made this card while I was playing around on Saturday and we were all blown away by how easy and quick it was to do!

The Poinsettia's are stamped onto black card and coloured with Permanent Red, Yellow Ochre and a selection of the metallic Pan Pastels.
There are 6 metallics in total - and you NEED them ALL!! Colorfin have spent a VERY long time making sure these were exactly the right consistency for what we need and they have achieved a fantastic result. When you first open them up your mind is tricked into thinking they are a cream because they sit there shimmering at you but don't be fooled, this is a SERIOUS product with some amazing potential for craftiness!

When I first opened them I swished some onto white card....hmmm....okay....black card.....hmmm okay, much better, really shows the pigments off.....gets out the Versamark inkpad....OH...M...GEEEE!! TOTAL AND UTTER LUSHNESS!

I've had these in my hands for 24 hours now and in that time I have used with masks, stamps, watercoloured, heat embossed by making an embossing powder, verdigris'ed, patina'd, buffed....I cannot stop using them! I'm in Pan Pastel heaven!

Now anyone who knows me knows i"m not really one to go in for lots of bling and glitter and metallic card doesnt even exist in my world...but I am VERY Partial to creating some proper, kosher Faux Metal effects when I get the chance. So now there is no stopping me.

Go Buy all 6 now! They are on the Polkadoodles website and are worth every single penny. Even if you just swish them around the edges of your cards, the shimmer is stunning without being OTT and in your face. It's subtle. And subtle is always beautiful. A simple case of Less is more. Except you will be PP'ing every single surface in sight!

On this card I simply embossed a piece of white card, inked it with Versamark and then dabbed on different colours. I wanted a bit of a patina look so I added a little Turquoise shade in the mix too (yes, don't forget you CAN mix these with all your other colours too woohoo!). I built the colour up in a couple of layers to make it look like Faux metal with rivets on. This was a Sizzix embossing folder by the way (sorry don't know what it's called, it could be one that comes with the Big Shot Starter kit as I recently got that). I then did the same thing with the die-cut frame, again from Sizzix. The background paper I actually made from scratch too, using a fantastic new mask which we have on the website here - again using Versamark through the mask onto white paper and dabbing different colours on then buffing it off at the end.

This is one of my favourite cards I've made in a long time.

Until I show you the one tomorrow!

See ya!
xx

Metallic, Sizzix, Flowers and Pan Pastels Sneaky Peek 3

So as promised, here is sneaky peek No 3 from the demo day on Saturday!

I have to admit I am so in love with this product I kinda subjected the people on the day to this most of the time, bless 'em but I think we ALL loved it!

So the good news is that I won't do any more sneaky peeks - I will start to do the big reveal tomorrow! I know you're itching to find out the secret! ; )

It's the same products as yesterday and the day before - some Pan Pastels and Sizzix

Metallic, Flowers, Pan Pastels and Sizzix

Hey everyone!

It's been another fun day down at the Pdoodley ranch this week and we have new stock galore to tempt you with.

Today was our 2nd demo day with yours truly at The Outlet and we had some lovely crafters who came and spent the day with us...there was mucho supping of Latte's, Mochas and Cappuccino's and my Lemon Lushty Cupcakes seemed to go down a treat too : )

We did a few different things today and I thought I would share some of the lushness, but I'm going to TEEEEAAASE you with this over the bank holiday weekend and then do a reveal sometime next week : )

I KNOW!
I'm such a meanie!!

Something has landed at Doodle Towers yesterday all the way from the good ol' US of A and I am UBER excited about it! In fact I am in LUUUURRRVE with the lushness! I think as of this moment in time we are probably the only stockist in the UK to actually have these in our mitts in fact, woohooo!

Right let's get on with it, sneaky peek Numero Uno....

Ooooo look at the glistening lushness!! Can you see how it shimmers and shines? mmmmmmmmmm! We LOVE!!

I'm not telling you what I used here other than it was my new Poinsettia stamp set with some Pan Pastels and a Sizzix frame die and embossing folder. The rest will be revealed *coughs* in a couple of days!

See ya! : D

Morning campers!

Just thought I'd share another quick make with you today and share a bit more of the Sizzix luuurve I have going on right now! And the Bonbon Belles luuuuurve too of course! ; )

This was SO quick to make! Take an 8 x 8" card, cut it down the spine and then fold one half to make an 8 x 4" card instead. I covered it with paper from the Bonbon Belles collection and a simple Butterfly topper with the gorgeous birdhouse on it.

I've always loved doing things at jaunty angles and my thang is to have stuff hanging off the edge I think. For some reason I've ALWAYS done this right from the very first card I ever made I think...I know this because I have always had issues finding envelopes to fit haha! Luckily when I first started crafting I worked for an envelope manufacturer so I can make envies to fit anything in a snip without the need for any kind of Envelope thingamajiggy! :D

Anyhoo, I added another of my favourite Sizzix frames and more of those lush Intricate flowers (I make batches of them up at the same time and keep them bagged so I can snaffle a few when I need to) which were (yawwwwnn) yep you guessed it, coloured with my fave Pan Pastels! I tinted the frame too at the same time then just added some bunting, again from the CD.

So that's me for today! I have an uber busy week this week as I have a Create and Craft show coming up on Sunday 18th at 2pm which is a colouring show and then a top secret very exciting project to do on Monday 19th so it's a bit manic around here with lots of prep!

Oh! and make sure you tune in on the 18th as there is something fabulous and new which can be grabbed - 4 in fact and I can't wait because they're lush!

Morning everyone!

I am terrible at not updating you on news etc so I wanted to make sure I did before I forget!

Make sure you tune into Create and Craft TV on Sunday 18th August at 2pm as I will be demonstrating Graph'it markers with some lovely new products. I think you're going to love this show - there are 4 fab new products which I think might get snapped up fast so don't miss them!

See you there! x

Bright and Bold!

Hello! Another Monday and the start of another busy week at Polkadoodle towers...nothing new there then LOL! I keep finding samples that I haven't shared with you yet so I wanted to show you this one which I love even if I do say so myself. If I haven't told you already I am currently in love with all things Sizzix - not that I ever wasn't - but I think they are really pulling out the stops with all their latest collections this year and having seen some of the new stuff launched at CHA my bank balance is going to suffer big time I think!

Anyway, I'm also really into BRIGHT and BOLD colours at the moment too which is very unusual for me! I'm usually a very muted kinda gal so this is completely out of my normal remit and I'm blaming it on those darned Pan Pastels and Graph'It markers! Both brands have some superb colours and tend to be very vibrant and it really is translating over into my work at the moment and I have to say I am LOVING it! It's cool to give yourself a kick up the backside now and then and take some inspiration from new things, but it's even cooler when it just kinda happens without you even realising it! : )

This mega bright card was made during an extremely boring demonstration I did the other week where the world passed by without even a second glance at my poor little craft table in the middle of a big store...and I think it's SOO pretty too! I was amazed no-one stopped to look at the bright colours of this and the pretty little flowers. I have to say this photo doesnt really do this justice it's a little overexposed and difficult to see the awesome tones. I used my Sizzix flowers die again and again cut them all in white card then colour tinted the centres using Pan Pastels. I think I'm addicted to both Pan Pastels AND this die! The paper and the butterfly are from our Bonbon Belles collection and the frame is another I'm in love with! I'm usually pretty critical of my own work but I really love these flowers and I actually love this sample so much it's on my desk for a while....Hope you like it too x

Blog Lovin

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Let's fly!

Hey folks! Bored of clean and simple yet? Me neither!

Just thought I'd share this simple one from Monday's Craft Clinic show. I used Gesso onto some plain white card through the heart mask. Once it dried (this weather is great for super fast drying Gesso!) I then used my gorgeous Butterfly mask and cut it out. Then I colour tinted the centre with Phthalo Green Pan Pastels, with Magenta around the edges. Add a sentiment and a ribbon - and it's ready to go! x

Embossed Heaven!

So...I don't often use embossing folders these days. Not because I don't love 'em, just because they often don't fit with what I need to make.

I still buy them of course! ; D

I was at Hobbycraft on Saturday demonstrating and I picked this Sizzix embossing folder up, having owned it for about a year and never used it (sound familiar?)...I'll be honest, it didn't really grab me in the packet, but once it was embossed I loved it and for me it completely cried out to be coloured up...

I just took my good old faithful Pan Pastels and coloured this baby up, using Permanent Red, Perm Red Tint and a couple of greens, plus a blue in between. The embossing detail is so deep it took the colour perfectly and was a dream to do, in fact, after a dead as a doornail day where no-one could be interested to see what I was doing, this one drew a little crowd. Ok, well one lovely lady who had come down from the shop to see me LOL! She fell in love with this too.

I just cut out one of the flowers, colour tinted some more card with the Red and added a sentiment and a ribbon. Perfick. Reminds me of a certain high street designer this one! x

Clean and Simple Frames and Flowers

Hello! Back again!

I wanted to share another clean and simple make using that phenomenal Sizzix die from yesterday! I told you I was using it a LOT!

This card was so quick to make - I'm so loving going back to basics, I seem to either be in a'throw everything you can at it' mode or a minimal mode these days : )

So for this card, I just took a white 8 x 8" card blank and colour tinted the edges with Pan Pastels.

I then used another really lovely frame from Sizzix here. So delicate this one, I love it. Then I took more of the flowers from the Intricate Flowers set (great price for these too!). Again I used Pan Pastels to colour the flowers - they were all cut from white card) and then layered them all up. The sentiment is a Polkadoodles stamp from our Sensational Sentiments here which is a real must have set I think.

Clean and simples. x

Clean and Simple...

Hey everyone, been absent for a little while as usual, nothing changes does it! I'm having a little sneaky day off today following a hectic day on Create and Craft yesterday, during which I got a bad migraine so I think I deserve a chillax day! Not that it's really a day off anyway as I've still been working away at home on the pooter anyway haha!

Anyway, I thought it was time to share a few makes as I've been absent! Last week I demo'd in our local Hobbycraft store where they asked me to show die-cutting. It was a bit of a damp squib even though it was baking hot outside, but I think lots of people had gone off for the day with it being the start of school holidays and such a beautiful day. Anyway, as I was sitting there, all on my lonesome it meant I had time to do what I wanted for a change and I decided to get all my lovely Sizzix dies at the ready and see what pretties I could make.

I've always been a massive Sizzix fan and consider them the original inspiration behind die-cutting. I saved like mad to buy my first red machine, which was a good 12 years ago now I think, and it was so hard to get hold of! They really did revolutionise crafting at the time and my red mosheen was an absolute must have - lots of people were very jealous of it I can tell you! My first dies I bought were an alphabet and numbers set and to this day I say everyone should posess a set of alphas, they are so versatile. And in fact, I have 3 or 4 Sizzix ones that I still use now, just goes to show that dies are a lifetime purchase really! Anyway, I digress, now that technology has moved on I have my new machine, my beloved and very pretty Big Shot and I'm now saving fro my Pro! I have just the right sized space for it to go lol! Anyway, I am seeing SO many beautiful dies from Sizzix right now, I think they're really on the mark with designs. I'm so tired of seeing the same old frames and shapes all the time from the other brands, it's getting complete overload and a bit zzz's for my taste, lovely as they are. I personally think Sizzix put a lot of thought into their designs and give more shapes which can actually be used over and over to make something really lovely. Recently I've bought loads of great sets including some of the Susan's Garden sets which are just stunning, I'll show you some of those later on (in fact I love the current Sizzix ones so much that I've started to stock them in the shop here).

Anyway this card is one of the ones I made on Saturday...clean and simple and nothing else needed I think....

This uses the frame die Ornate Oval which I think is just stunning, plus a flower from the Intricate flowers set which has already become one of my most fave sets of all time - SO much you can do with this, it's a real staple!

All I did was use a paper from the Bonbon Belles CD (Marshmallow Fluff Colourburst) and then colour tinted my frame and the flower with Pan Pastels using Permanent Red and Phthalo Green with a little Orange in the centre underneath. So pretty even if I do say so myself! The sentiment is also from the CD and again colour tinted with Pan Pastels. Love 'em!

Right, I'll be back tomorrow with another! xx

Bright and Bold Backgrounds

Hello! Friday and that means the Graph'It and Polkadoodles challenges!

Today at Graph'It we are challenging you to use Bright and Bold colours and over at Polkadoodles it's all about making your own backgrounds...(you can use any kind of marker on the GI challenge)...

I find it really easy to use bright and bold colours with Graph'It - in fact the rich and vibrant tones positively encourage me to be more adventurous with my colour choices, I've never used so many strong colours in my colouring but I totally love being pushed out of my comfort zone and I ADORE Graph'It markers! This image is from our new Bonbon Belles collection...

I used my beloved Pan Pastels for the sky background (how did I live without Pan Pastels??) and then coloured the grass with Graph'It pens - just 2 colours for this...so easy, the whole thing took about 5 minutes.

Make sure you go and join us over on both the Polkadoodles blog and the Graph'It blog - there are great prizes up for grabs this week!

See you soon with something very exciting!!

New beginnings!

Well, here at Polkadoodles it's been a busy old month with moving premises and the launch of our Bonbon Belles beauties and a host of other stuff! We don't do things by half that's for sure!

In addition to all this, today is the first day of a brand new challenge blog for the amazing Graph'It markers! Woohoo!! Please make sure you check it out - even if you are happy with your current alcohol markers you will LOVE this blog and you don't even need to use GIs to enter, but the Design Team are simply AMAZING! I truly believe we have some of the best colourists around on this team so I'm mega excited to be a part of this!

Anyway, let's get this show on the road!

Head on over to the blog to join in with the challenge - as I said, this is a colouring challenge and you can use any kind of marker to enter and we have some fabulous prizes up for grabs each week so make sure you follow us too! See you over there!

So today my post is all about New Beginnings for the Graph'It blog and for Polkadoodles blog too!
For this card I used a couple of beautiful new dies I got this week which are both from Sizzix and I've coloured in an image from my brand new collection Bonbon Belles which is just lovely. And of course she's coloured with my brand new Graph'It pens too! So New beginnings 3 times round!

I'm so bad, I've completely forgotten the colours I've used on this image :O what a great start that is! I promise to try harder next time LOL! I do know the skintones I used are 4110, 4120, 4155, 4170 and 4180 with 4135 for cheeks. Graph'Its really are taking the marker world by storm and everywhere I go right now I'm being asked all about them and I'm so pleased that once I show a couple of samples everyone can see the amazing difference and vibrancy of colour you can achieve easily. It really is a no-brainer for me! I've also used Pan Pastels around the edges to distress a little and on my sentiment to colourise it - again I just find using Pan Pastels so much easier and quicker than Distress Inks and if I go wrong I can rub it out and start again!

This week I finally got a Big Shot! I've had every other die-cutting machine on the planet I think, but I had to use a Big Shot at a recent demo day in Hobbycraft and I was blown away by how lovely it was to use and have been want...no, let's face it, NEEDING one ever since! I've always been a big Sizzix fan and have quite a few dies (I still have my old red machine and I could never bear to part with it!) but the Big Shot is so lovely to use. What really blows me away is the ergonomics of it and just how EASY it is to use, quite honestly. Instead of feeling like your arm is going to drop off winding the handle, the Big Shot goes through everything like butter - I cut 4 pieces of paper folded in half (8 sides) all at once and it cut like butter. Swish!....done in about 5 seconds! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! So to go along with my beautiful new cutting steed a few new dies managed to adventure into my craft room too...of course...so the huge big peony flower is a Bigz die which is just stunning (have to say I haven't done this justice as my paper was only 90gsm so it's a bit too floppy and flat really and I was in a bit of a rush). I finished off with a great Scallop Circles Framelits set which is perfect for so many things and a real staple you should have in your die stash if you haven't already got it.
All the papers and the image I've used on this card are from our new Bonbon Belles collection and papers are from the Marshmallow Fluff Colourburst - you'll love it!

Right I'd better head off, I'll be back very soon with more lushness!

Our Outlet is now Open!

So as most of you know, we've had an outlet in York since March this year but we decided that we needed a little more space so we've not really advertised it until now! Last week we moved premises to somewhere a little larger and it means we now have more workshop space and more shop space.

Now, before you get way too excited and jump in the car, we are limited in what we stock as it is mainly for Polkadoodles products but we will be stocking additional supplies which will not be online because of postage costs etc.

We do have some really exciting things to tell you about all of this though:

1. When you shop in the Outlet you will get 10% off all the marked prices.
2. We now have an Outlet Loyalty card which entitles you to 10% off all craft supplies (additional discount).
3. Our workshop area is now larger so we can seat 18 people! AND you can get around the shop LOL! (unlike before where we were crammed in so much we couldn't move!)
4. We will be holding midweek classes along with our regular Saturday classes.
5. We will now be having regular demo days - woohoo!!
6. FREE table hire for craft groups! If you have a craft club or group and would like to come to the shop to craft you can have the use of our tables completely FREE for an hour at a time. If you wish to stay longer than this we will make a small hourly charge (please note that this is for adults ie over 16s only).

Now, we do have one more mega exciting thing to tell you about - our new Crafty Coffee Bar!!
Well, ok, a coffee bar it is not but as from 1st July we will be taking delivery of our fabulous new professional Coffee Machine and will becoming pro Barista's! Yes, we will be making Cappuccinos, Lattes, Mochas Americanos Craftyanos :D and any other coffee you are partial to - and tea of course! We will also have a few delish nibbles for you to feast on whilst you have your crafty coffee including the most amazing Brownies in the whole wide world from Gower Cottage which are world-famous and made by my lovely friend Kate in Wales (Kate is a food presenter on ITV's countrywise and is a supreme Browniemaker!). So book a table, come along with your friends and bring your stash and craft along with delicious coffee surrounded by lovely samples and inspiration - what more could you want?!

We are open 6 days a week but at certain times we will be closed because of being away at shows and demo's etc so please please check the website if you're making a long journey, we will try and keep the website diary up to date! We are now located next to Dean's Garden Centre which is fabulous for getting rid of the other half, so ditch him there and walk 50 yards to the Outlet round the corner! Although I almost forgot - we have a comfy chair and will give him a coffee and a paper to keep him quiet while you shop!

You will find us at:

15 Bull Commercial Centre, Stockton on Forest, York YO32 9LE Tel: 01904 400527

So as you can see, we are super-excited about the new Outlet and we think you will be too! Please bear with us while we build up some of our basic craft supplies but let us know what you want us to stock and we will try and get it for you.

Busy Busy but exciting times!

Hello!! I apologise yet again for my absence but I seriously need a ghost blogger! I think my problem is I have to make things so far in advance that I then forget to blog them 2 or 3 months down the road!

Anyway I just popped in to give you some exciting news....this week we moved business premises to a larger and more versatile building - and we love it already! It's been a tough week and we are all shattered - it's amazing how moving turns into such an epic endurance test! We thought it would take us 3 days to move and unpack but man o man, it's turned into a 7 day event at least!

So why is this so exciting? Well, back in March we decided that we would open up our unit as an Outlet store - we have all this stock just sitting there so it makes sense that local people can come and visit to shop if they wish rather than just buying online, plus it coincided with the introduction of my regular monthly classes again...but we decided, more or less at the same time, to move and find somewhere bigger, so we haven't really advertised the outlet and with commitments we haven't been able to man it properly either. We currently have a small stock but will be adding items to this that we don't usually sell online for various reasons and hope to build up a good stock of basics including adhesives and cardstock which we know you need on a regular basis.

So the great thing is we now have a much bigger Outlet area - and instead of just being able to accommodate 10 people at a squeeze for a class, we can now comfortably fit 18 bodies and also move around the tables to shop comfortably too! :D Yay!!

PLUS, as we now have dedicated class space we are going to open this up FREE of charge to local crafting groups to come along and use (bookings only of course). We have the space so therefore we want you to use it! There will still be times when the space is not available and the Outlet will not be open due to our other commitments such as shows and Create & Craft etc but we will post the Outlet Diary online and ensure it's updated regularly. So watch out on the website for more information - we will be open for Outlet business from (grr cat is laid asleep on my diary and I dont have the heart to move him!)...Wednesday 26th June! ....just go check the website, I will add the dates tomorrow!

I'll be back soon, I promise with some makes! xx

(edited: forgot to tell you where we are!!
We are now located at Unit 15 Bull Commercial Centre, Stockton on Forest, York YO32 9LE (next door to the VERY lovely Deans Garden Centre which has an awesome cafe so is great for a little trip out, plus you can dump the OH at the garden centre and walk 20 yards to come to us!!!BONUS!)

Next!

Yes, you guessed it - no posts from me in ages and then 4 in a row LOL! I've been sooo busy lately I don't know if I'm coming or going to be honest, I seem to be here there and everywhere on colouring workshops and demos at the minute, my diary is just crazy and there's lots more to come too, don't think I have a free weekend until the end of August, jeeeez!

Anyway, here is the next lovely for you...
Soooo cute!! When I was little my cousin always had Shetland Ponies and we used to love playing with them, they were so great (although not so placid as they look if I remember rightly LOL!) so when I decided to create some special images for our Scottish fans, I just had to include a little pony! Love his jumper LOL! These are now available from the Polkadoodles digistore as digistamps but you can also buy these as large clear stamps from The Papeterie at Aberdeen exclusively so grab them whilst they're in stock - once they're gone, they're gone!

Keep your eyes peeled this week for more new stuff coming very soon! I've been a busy gal lately!

A little sneaky peek...

Hey everyone!

Finally found an hour to get my pics together for some posts so thought I'd share the pics of my latest stamps which are exclusive to The Papeterie in Aberdeen. When I agreed to go all the way to Aberdeen (7 hours from York!) I decided that we needed to do something special for all those Scottish crafters and I designed this exclusive range of gorgeousness just for them...(although you might see them with us too at some point so watch this space!). These are really big clear stamps so there is plenty of area to colour. These images are coloured with my beloved Graph'It markers and then scanned in but the vibrancy is a pretty true reflection of the astonishing depth of colour and tone you get with these pens - they certainly are hot to trot at the moment because we're struggling to keep them in stock!

Here's the first image, this is our gorgeous Bonnie...such a beauty...

If you want to get hold of these pretties you need to go to The Papeterie website or give them a call to order them. They're flying out (no pun intended) so be quick! I'll give you another peek at the next one tomorrow! xx

That Sunday feeling!

Hey my Lovelies!

Quick heads up today as I have a really busy week! I thought I had an easy week coming up after some hectic ones but who was I kidding, I really must read my diary every day to get a grip on reality haha!

You'll find me on Ideal World (Create & Craft's sister TV channel) at 5pm on Wednesday 17th with another Premium Art Brands show - I can't wait!!

I promise to be getting a little messy and oh my! you know what that means!! Yep, when I say messy I don't go half measures so I hope you can join me with some LOVELY brand new products we're bringing to you! The guys at PAB really know what us crafters love, for sure! Plus there'll be some old faves on there including Pan Pastels too which I know you all adore and love ; )

I have a family funeral to attend on Thursday so I hope I manage to get rid of the mess and my hands aren't too ugly or it won't do will it, Nanny will be on her little cloud above shaking her head at me if she sees me turn up in a state to wave her off LOL!

Then on Saturday I'll be at the York Hobbycraft store with a fabulous workshop with some lovely ladies. We had a last-minute cancellation on Friday I think so there might be 2 places left but please make sure you call us to book or book online.

I've been asked to blog the card I made on Friday's 8am show and I WILL do this but it will be after the weekend as I had to give the card away and I don't have time to remake it again before the workshop, but I promise to give you the instructions, just bear with me!

In the meantime, I've added all the show samples to the website gallery now for Fredericka, there are some real beauties in there!

And here is a little sneaky peek of something coming up on Tuesday too!
