Blog Hop time - whoop whooop!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry but there's no card from me today as I am too stacked out, my feet haven't touched the ground this week, but welcome to our fantastic blog hop and candy giveaway! So if  you came here from the Polkadoodles blog you're in the right place!

Our fabulous sponsors Marianne Design are giving you the chance towin this adorable Garden themed Creatable as part of our blog hop
Creatables are handy stencils that cut and/or emboss. They can be used in many machines, with all kinds of paper. The cut-out and embossed shapes are ideal to make your cards and other creative projects even more beautiful. We also have this lovely cuter than cute Snoesjes stamp, a fabulous 32 page paper pack and we adore this stunning flower ribbon - this candy is just scrumptious!!

In addition to this wonderful Marianne Design candy the first prize winner will receive a brand new Sugarplum Daisy CD AND a Candy Doodles CD from Polkadoodles PLUS 2 further winners will also receive a Candy Doodles CD - so there are 3 chances to win our Hop!!

Here is what you must do: (you might find some extra candy along the way from the DT so make sure you go visit them all!!)

CHALLENGE STAGE 1: Now, we know not everyone likes to do a hop for whatever reason, so we still have our normal challenge for the week which is EASTER themed - you must make a card or project which is Easter themed.

But that's not all...

CHALLENGE STAGE 2: Our second challenge is the blog hop - if you hop along with us this week you will find that the Easter Bunny has arrived early and left some hidden goodies on some of the Design Teams blogs - but you have to hop though the whole list to find who the Easter Bunny has visited!

You need to complete both the Easter themed challenge and the blog hop to be in with a chance of winning one of the fantastic prizes on offer! If you've never taken part in a blog hop before it's easy peasy...all you need to do is visit each blog in turn and for this hop each Polkadoodler will give you a LETTER (be careful - some of the Polkadoodlers may have more than one so make sure you collect them all!) Now add all the letters together, unscramble them and leave a comment on the Polkadoodle Challenge Blog (comments will be moderated!) telling us what the word is. You MUST follow this blog and link to the blog hop on your own blog to be eligible to win, so make sure you click follow in the sidebar!

Your entry will automatically be judged for the Easter themed challenge BUT we will know if you have completed the Blog Hop so if you haven't you will still only be eligible for the random blog candy hidden amongst some of the Polkadoodlers.

So you got to my blog ok, and to be in with a chance of winning MY special candy in addition to the big blog hop you MUST follow my blog and leave me a comment beneath this post. One lucky winner will receive the new Sugarplum Daisy CD, Candy Doodles CD and the Sugar Birdies CD PLUS 2 stamps - the value of this candy is over £50 ($90!!)!!! But remember you MUST follow my blog to be in with a chance and leave a comment for me - we would also love it if you could link to the main blog hop or to this page on your blog too to help spread the candy word!
The letter that you need from me is the letter G
So now you have done all that you now need to go over and see Fliss to see what she has in store for you!
Happy Hopping folks and good luck!! (I will reveal the candy winner on 13th April!

Shabby Chic

Woahhh! What a busy few weeks it's been! I have been like a whirling dervish almost meeting myself coming back this past month, there have been times I didnt even know what day it was lol! Serious.

So I've been working on our cute new CD collection Sugarplum Daisy. Soooo cute! We launched the CD at GNPE at Harrogate last weekend - I love Harrogate show, it's 20 minutes down the road from us so I always try to do a launch there first for our local peeps and it is always a very very busy show for us. It's quite noticable at the mo with the economic climate and lots of shops closing that the shows are suffering a little - there seemed like lots of good craft companies there but all seemed to have much smaller stands this time round.
We, however, had a larger one as we keep finding we can't squish enough people in and we can't have any elbow fights going on LOL!! We had the pleasure of the lovely Leonie Pujol demoing with me this time, man I love that girl she is so lovely, I love WYSIWYG people, dont you?As in people where What You See Is What You Get - no airs and graces, she's just how she is and I love people like that, I can't be doing with ego's, I always feel a need to chop those down with a nice big pair of chunky secateurs LOL! Sadly there seem to be a lot around!  Anyway, after the show it was lovely to catch up with "our Leonie" and my wonderful bestie Michelle who was awesomely kind enough to help us on the stand for the day, over one of the most delish Chinese meals I ever ate in my life it has to be said. There was mucho laughter and snorting and me showing myself up by not using chopsticks and accidental flinging of noodles everywhere and a damn good girlie gossip - thanks girls, it was a brilliant weekend!

Then onto the week - 10 hours of Pick of the Day shows with Letraset on Create & Craft TV on Wednesday and Thursday, together with showcasing the Sugarplum Daisy CD too and if only you all knew how much my feet hurt all week thanks to big old blisters from wearing trainers and no socks at Harrogate lol, ouchie ouchie ouch! (dont even go there with my feet I have the worst feet in the entire universe since childhood, they are the bain of my life. My "bludgeoned" feet are what they are better known as!). I was literally hopping about one foot to the other behind the counter by the end of Thursday lol, so if my colouring was outside the lines now you know why! I really should ask to sit down I don't find colouring whilst standing up the easiest thing in the world to do, why does it never occur to me?
Anyway, onto Friday and another TV show at 8am (hate 8am's they mean being IN the studio by 7am so a 5.30am start at least, boooo! :C  ) ...Basically Bare with Kuretake and a fab show, it was fab to finally be able to get a bit messy and inky on a TV show, in 3 years it was the first time I've ever been able to do an altered media show and I loved it, just wish we'd had more time!  Basically Bare is a newish Company in the US who manufacture raw books and embellies which are awesomely good for altered media, scrapbooking and cardmaking and I am in love with this range! Believe me you are going to see loads of it on my projects from now on! I will do another post with loads of samples etc for you to see later on in the week.  There will be more shows to follow soon so if you missed it make sure you keep checking back, Basically Bare is quite unique in what they offer. So it was a lovely show - completely amazing samples from the Kuretake Design Team, and then by 10am I was on the road for home at last, back to the ginger ninja's. Oh, and the hubby of course ; )
So after a really busy week, today is challenge day over at Elisabeth Bell's World blog and the theme is Shabby Chic and Distressing. I must confess that I forgot to do my post in advance so this was a last minute make at 6pm last night and I pulled out my Prisma's to colour this as quite honestly I can't quite face another alcohol pen this week! Did I tell you that apparently we shipped out over 70,000 marker pens in 2 days on the shows - 70 THOUSAND!!! 70 THOUSAND pens!! Can you imagine???!!!! Oh my word!!! Thank goodness they're not all going to one person LOLOL!
Anyway, enough waffle, here is my card offering...
The image is Elisabeth Bell's Tooth Fairy which you can get here from Lissy Bee's wonderful digi shop - have you been over there yet? I love Lissy Bee's designs, she just has an ability to capture a mood with her girls so wonderfully well. Have you also joined in the Digibells blog hop yet this month?? You can win this digi!  The papers on the card are from both Pretty Sweet and the new Sugarplum Daisy CD.  The strawberry red paper on the right hand side has been distressed with spackle through a leafy template and distressed up around the edges to give it loads of grungey texture and the other bits are just from my stashbox, chipboard letters from the Girls Paperie which I love because they're such a useful size and I coloured them with Kuretake's Zig Painty pens. If you've not seen these yet check out my Kuretake post later this week - they are completely awesome and every crafters NEEDS them in their craftbox!!
Right, time to head off, this week I have yet another busy one, a gazillion samples to photograph, magazine tutorials to complete for Simply Cards & Papercrafts and I need to put my editor head on as it's time to start putting together the Polkadoodles Creative Chronicle magazine for the Pen & Paper Circle club - not heard of it? Where have you been?? You can check it out here.  Also, watch out Friday as we have a blog hop with loads of fabulous candy going on the Polkadoodles blog - you seriously need to be watching out for it, there are some awesome prizes!!
Tatty bye for now, peeps!!xx

Lil Lilian...

Hi everyone! My turn to host the post today on the Digibells blog and it's a goodie! Today I'm showing you the 2nd of Lissy Bee's delightful digi's for March...
Isn't she just adorable, this is Li'l Lilian! I've coloured her with a mix of Promarkers and Flexmarkers and of course she needed to be with the lovely papers from my Pretty Sweet collection. The die-cuts are all Marianne Design and then I added a butterfly which is a Spellbinders. You can get this sweet digi over here on Elisabeth's website.

The great big blog hop!!

Hi everyone!
It's Blog Hop time at  Digibells ! Woohoo!
If you arrived here today from Linda's blog you're in the right place! If not, then we have a great blog hop going on over at Digibells this week, starting off today at 9 AM, ARIZONA TIME ( 7hrs behind the UK!)

This month Elisabeth has created two gorgeous digi images which are just adorable, "Lil Lils" and "Mary Lou Sweet Tooth Fairy" - just gorgeous!  This is one of my favourite shapes at the moment, half a card folded in half and one of my favourite Marianne Design dies. The papers and flowers are yet again from the Pretty Sweet CD and my little ticket sentiment is from the Candy Doodles CD we re-released just recently. I really like this card, it's so pretty!

You have 2 chances to win one of these lovely digi's so read carefully! ...
1.To be in with a chance of getting your mitts on this image, you must hop through and  leave comments on EACH team member's blog. To improve your chances to win Lynda will pick 2 blogs at random that the winners  will be picked from in the comments - so do make sure you leave a comment on each blog! You have until March 30, 2012 at 9 AM (Arizona time) to leave comments. The winners will be picked and posted to the  Digibells blog  on Saturday March 31, 2012.

2. The second way to win will be to do the hop as above, leave comments and then to make a card and post it on the  Digibells blog. Your theme must be " Flowers" and you can use ANY Elisabeth  Bell image. This challenge will also end on March 30, 2012 at 9 AM Arizona Time and the winner will be posted on the Digi Bell's blog the next morning. (Saturday March 31)

In addition I have also decided to do my own blog candy to give you some extra incentive - so once you've left a comment on all the team blogs AND the Digibells blog you need to come back here, follow my blog and leave me a comment - I will select THREE lucky people to EACH win THREE free CD- roms, one Candy Doodles, one Pretty Sweet and one Pretty Tuff - worth £45!! (approx $80) closing date for these comments is also 30th March and I will announce it here.  I WILL be checking that you left comments on all the blogs and that you followed me and if you don't then you won't be included in the draw so please make sure you follow the rules!!

So, you have 2 ways to win and also a chance to win by leaving me a comment too! So make sure you get in quick and don't miss the deadline - I know lots of you Polkadoodlers already have Elisabeth Bell stamps anyway, so come on, get creating!.....Good luck everyone - keep reading to the bottom of this post to get your next hop link!...

Now you need to head on over to the very talented Janneke's blog where she has more inspiration and make sure you leave her a comment too!..

Chasing shadows...

I remember the first time I heard that phrase and nearly died laughing...never heard it in my life before that!  Anyway, this week I kind of get it because I think I may spontaneously combust!...
I've been mega busy over the past few weeks leading up to a brand new product launch - anyone at the GNPE show at Harrogate this weekend will see the fruits of my 16 hour almost sleepless days of working my fingers to the bone...I'm in the nervous pre-launch phase where I'm always scared to death no-one will like it but I'm sure you will!
I am so excited to be at Harrogate this week because we have the very fabulous and funny Leonie Pujol joining me at the demo table for the weekend!! Woohooo!! I'm looking forward to seeing what craftiness she comes up with, no doubt it will be totally fab and I guarantee there will be mucho hilarity I think! But I will be working her "dead 'ard"!...and I just know I am going to have the thickest northern accent of my life by the time we get to Sunday night!
As if that wasn't enough excitement for one week (I may be back in the cardiac unit at this rate!) you will see me on your screens next Wednesday 21st March at 9pm on Ideal World to launch a new Pick of the Day - there is some fabulousness coming your way! It's top secret right now but we have LOADS of mega deals and new stuff you may not have seen....ohhh I'm saying way too much already....AND I will also be launching the new Polkadoodles CD on the Pick of the Day shows too - so it's a double whammy! I'll be there Wednesday night and all day Thursday between Ideal World and Create and Craft so I do hope you'll join me and keep me sane over the day!
AND as if THAT wasn't enough either, I am then back on Create and Craft at 8am Fri 23rd with a brand new Kuretake show launching some absolutely fab products you will LOVE and I'll be getting a little messy I think for a change!! In fact you'll get some sneaky peeks at Harrogate too if you're there! So whether you're a cardmaker OR a scrapper you will LOVE this show!!
So all in all a rather busy week and I don't know what to do first other than tell you all what I'm up to and why I've been AWOL the past 2 weeks! I will now see you on the other side sometime Sat 24th after I've woken up from an impending collapse I think!! Have fun! xx

Creative Genius

Wow - such a busy week I almost forgot my post! It's my turn to host over at Digibells today and I have a goodie for you! I absolutely love this image - I don't know Elisabeth drew this in mind of but I think she thought it was me! Creative Genius this little beauty is called and you can get the digistamp here. I coloured this image with my beloved Prisma's, love how you can achieve the texture with pencils.

If  you've never been over to Digibells or Elisabeth Bells digi site then you are seriously missing out and what the hell are you thinking, haha!  The Digibells team are amazingly talented and always come up with loads of inspiration daily for you.
On this card I've used my beloved Marianne Designs dies - that flower flourish is my all time fave I think, you can see it everywhere on my cards, but I've also used a brand new die which is one of the new Anja range.  This is beautiful and I don't think I've really done it justice on this card as it had to be a quick make, but I really wanted to show off the beauty of the die. You can turn it anyway around for all sorts of different looks, I have loads of ideas for this but I am really short on time right now. (hmm looking at the pic, it just sorta looks plonked on top LOL but hopefully you can see through my rubbish composition!).
Right, I must get back to work, Fridays are always manic here, have you checked out the Polkadoodles blog today? Loads of Marianne Design and Polkadoodles candy up for grabs!  I am so busy right now I'm meeting myself coming back, we're busy prepping for Harrogate and I am busy designing for a new launch! I have loads of things coming up in the next 2 weeks including lots of C&C shows but I'll tell you all about that later!
Have a great weekend everyone! xx

Simply Cards & Papercrafts Issue 95 March

Morning peepsicles!
Today the new issue of Simply Cards & Papercraft is out on the shelves. My colouring tutorials this month focus on watercolouring using the absolutely amazeballs Art & Graphic Twins from Kuretake Zig (seriously once you try these you will fall in love with them forever, to compare them for me is like having Tombow without the Tombow price and more flexible because of the tip!) so go grab a copy today! You all seem to be loving the tutorials, we're receiving some great feedback every month and I know loads of you are actually doing the tutorials and practicing which is just brilliant!! I always wonder if anyone actually takes notice of tutorials sometimes but I know that you are so that makes me a very happy girl indeed as it means I'm giving you the knowledge that you all want and need - so big yay and thankyou for your support!
So this month I decided to use a real favourite image of mine which is from the Sundae of Seasons CD. I used this to demo Flexmarkers on Create & Craft and I had so many comments about the image I know it's a real goodie to help show you some technique. You can also get it as a digi here specially for the magazine as we want you all to have a go at this month's tut!
I also made another project this month which uses some of the fabulous Basically Bare range from Kuretake Zig - gorgeous packs of chipboard, felt, thick acetate, cardboard and kraft elements which you can decorate to your 'arts content (see what I did there lol!) - cover with your papers, inks, waterbased markers, your alcohol based markers, they are great for doing virtually anything with AND you get a selection of different mediums in each pack making them really versatile. If you're into anything altered or scrabooky or your art journalling you will love them but I also love them for cards too. LOVE love love these Fleur De Lys ones which I also coloured with the Art & Graphic Twins for a different arty look with loads of texture to the ink...
The butterflies on here are also from the Sundae of Seasons CD (favest butterflies of all time for me) and again coloured with the AG's. That awesome scroll stamp is from my Stamp Doodle sets but will also be available as a separate scroll very very soon because it is a totally awesomely versatile stamp that everyone should own quite simply! You can make allsorts of patterns and backgrounds with this, from an all over the page background to borders, corners and frames, again a real must have stamp! This year we will be converting some of my all time favourite images from all the CD collections into stamps (sometimes there are certain images which just work brilliantly and are more versatile as stamps) so watch out because there will be more regular releases each month starting in March!
